Happy Holidays Update!
over 8 years ago – Tue, Dec 29, 2015 at 11:38:26 PM

Hello and Happy Holidays and New Year!

I wanted to update everyone on where we are with final development-

Backerkit: Everything is out, only 250+ or so of you still need to reply. Once all surveys are in, (Mid January) I will lock orders down and send out the final order numbers to the factory. I will give everyone a heads up so they know when the charge will go through in January.

Exterior Tile set: 6 of the 12 tiles are complete! The last 6 pieces that will make up a dried river bed section, dead forests and an abandoned trailer remain.

Mission Log Illustrations: most of the thumbnails are complete at this point for the 11 illustrations needed for the book. Two of those thumbnails are pictured here. Robin, the artist will be polishing all 11 of these over the next 4 weeks into final illustrations.

Countersheet: Leslie, the artist that did all the artwork for the item cards is handling the counter sheet as well. These are mostly mission specific objects with a few general use objects through in (crates, bodies and generic humans)

Infected Wildlife: Sanjeev, the artist that sculpted the Devourer, Nightgaunt, Nomad, Handler and companions is currently sculpting the Infected cougar, wolf, bear and elk. As soon as they are approved I will send you all screenshots.

Miniatures: All miniatures have gone through a "thickening" pass to weed out any parts that may be too thin for manufacturing. So far, this has been focused on enlarging gun barrels, rifle scopes, claws and hands.

Testing: I have the first group setup for January and they will begin next week. There will a 2nd group taking over at the end of the month and a 3rd group for the final round of testing in February.

That is all for now! Have a great New Year and thank you!

For any of you that have written over the last few days I have been travelling for the holidays and will be getting back to you now that I am home.

December Update
over 8 years ago – Wed, Dec 16, 2015 at 08:36:54 PM

Hello, I wanted to share what is happening with Blackout post Kickstarter. All backerkit info has gone out and will be locked down in 4 weeks time. There are still 300+ backers that still need to reply within the next 4 weeks. I'll be sending out reminders for those backers over the next month.

The Mission Log book is still underway and looking excellent. 5 of the 10 images and nearly complete, and I've included the image from Mission 04 here for you to see. It is not final, but will give you are overall feel for the piece.

The Exterior tile set is underway and should be completed in the next few weeks. I've included an image showing a stretch of Barren Highway that is about 80% complete. It still needs the gas pumps added to the station portion in the upper right hand corner and needs some polish to the rock shapes and additional debris. I've included a closeup shot as well so you can see the detail level. I am very pleased with the result so far!

For those of you that have written in with order questions, writing submissions or art examples for the Signal, I will be spending the end of the week getting caught up on emails and such so if you have not heard from me you will by the weekend.

Thank you all again, my next update will be focuses on testing and finalizing the Backerkit so the factory may get started.

BACKERKIT IS FINALLY LIVE!
over 8 years ago – Mon, Dec 07, 2015 at 07:31:00 PM

Add On increases:

I wanted to let everyone know that the original add-ons miniatures that are pictured on the KS campaign page have increased in number.

  • The Plastic Door Add On set now contains 12 doors
  • The Infected Humans Add On set now contains 6 miniatures
  • The Mercenary Add On set now contains 6 miniatures
  • The Mindcrawler Add On set will contains 7 miniatures
  • The Necrovant Add On miniature remains the same
  • The Infected Wildlife Add On set now contains 2 Bears, 3 Elk, 4 Mountain Lions and 5 Wolves.

All orders will remain open until mid to late January. I will send out a reminder letting you all know when the window is closing in about 6 weeks.

These additional miniatures are necessary for 3-4 player games and provide the correct number of enemies for the player.

Backerkit is there if you have questions about their system. From my experience, they have excellent customer service.

Thank you and let me know if you have any questions about anything in the add on list. For those of you that pledged $1 and wish to add the core game, there is a special option there as well.
